Summer Camp Open House

Are you looking for an interactive, experiential, informative, and developmental program for your child?
The Black and Latino Achievers is a nationally recognized teen mentoring program for 8th-12th graders. The focus is to educate and expose youth to various career fields as well as promote and encourage teens to further their education to post secondary institutions. Youth participate in workshops on:

The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:00am – 1:00pm. There is a $10.00 application fee & $35.00 program fee.
Early Registration July1-31
Take advantage of early registration and pay only the $35.00 program fee. During the month of July the $10.00 application fee will be waived. Don’t wait!, Register Early!, Ensure your spot!, Save money!

After-School registration is currently being taken for the 2010-2011 school year for Kindergarten – 5th grade and Middle School.

Goals and Rationale: Chess improves student critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical, and reading ability. The goals of this program are to teach the elements and advanced strategies of chess. This will allow students to enjoy the game for recreational purposes or to enter chess as a competitive sport with opportunities to compete in scholastic and United States Chess Federation competition.
Ages: 8 -15 years old
