Our Wellness Center is fully equipped with a wide variety of cardio and strength training equipment. Need help getting started? Orientations are free to members ages 14 and over.

During orientation, you will be shown how to operate the cardiovascular and strength training equipment. We will develop a personalized workout plan to help you reach your goals.

All youth 14 and 15 years of age are required to complete a teen certification course prior to being allowed to have full Wellness Center privileges.

Teen Certification is a 45-60 minute class that will allow teens, ages 14-15, to use the Wellness Center without having a parent or guardian present. Teens will learn how to use strength and cardio equipment, proper strength training form, and Wellness Center Rules and Policies. Classes will be offered at various times throughout the month.

Parkinson’s Cycle at the Spears YMCA improves the quality of life of Parkinson’s disease patients and their caregivers.

Participants must be 30-75 years old, be diagnosed with Idiopathic PD and complete and submit a signed consent form and medical clearance.  In addition there is an interview with the Branch Wellness Director.  Classes at the Ragsdale YMCA are held on Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am or classes at the Spears YMCA are held on Monday and Thursday mornings at 10:45am.

The class is free for qualified participants.

MS foundation logoA water exercise class designed for people with MS to help with daily functions. Workouts are designed to increase muscular strength and mobility. This class meets Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 11:00am.

This group is sponsored by Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and is free to those who have MS. For enrollment information / forms please see Bethany Williard, Aquatics Director.
