Become acquainted with the basic elements of the game, how pieces move, rules of capture, basic combinations, elementary strategy, and checkmate

Volunteer Instructor: Dr. Joseph L. Graves Jr, Associate Dean for Research, Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, North Carolina A&T State University and UNC Greensboro. Dr. Graves is an internationally known scientist and a life-long chess player and instructor. He is a rated United States Chess Federation Player with over 500 wins in competitive tournaments in his career.
